FEMALE FOODIE REUNION

The alarm went off at an unholy 3:00 a.m., and by 3:30 a.m., I was out the door and headed for BWI airport in Baltimore. Today was an exciting day — I was catching an early first-class Delta flight headed to Salt Lake City for the first-ever Female Foodie reunion.

I first connected with this amazing group of women back in 2023 on the Female Foodie Italy tour in Rome. At the time, I had to take a leap of faith: agreeing to share a hotel room with a total stranger (Carla) and a bathroom with two other strangers (Kelly and Ashley). But here’s the best part — those “strangers” quickly became friends, and by April 2024 we were exploring together again on the Female Foodie Florence & Tuscany tour.

Now, thanks to Brooke (the Female Foodie herself) we finally met up stateside for the very first time.

Kelly picked me up from the airport (SLC really is such a clean, easy-to-navigate airport), and we met up with Carla (Ashely was still in route). From there, our reunion itinerary was packed with fun.

🍫 Orson Gygi – A baker’s dream. Rows of kitchenware, baking essentials, and even classes I’d love to come back for. I picked up a few items including French vanilla chocolate wafers and some new baking pans.

🥤 The Food Nanny Store – A dream come true! I grabbed a dirty soda from their soda bar, then stocked up on fannies hot chocolate, sugar cookie mix, candles, a dough hook, salt, and the most beautiful pottery (Pro tip: I literally packed a suitcase inside my suitcase just to haul everything home 😅). I love the Food Nanny Kamut flour!

🛋️ Minky – Where cozy dreams come true. I already had a travel-sized hugs blanket (in tranquil dove) at home, but this time I splurged on the Ultra Sorbet Silver Cloud Grande blanket for my king bed — at 50% off! The weight of this blanket is perfect.

🛍️ City Creek Center – The perfect mix of retail therapy and people-watching. I discovered Germetry, I bought some gifts for my sister and my mom, some tea towels, and I even joined their membership program. It included some of their waffle bath towels and I love them! After scooping up Ashley at the airport (and squeezing in a quick outfit change in SLC’s very spacious restrooms 🙌), we headed to Wheeler Historic Farm for the reunion. The event was perfectly Utah — tacos, a soda bar, and cookies.

We checked in, grabbed our adorable reunion t-shirts (“Ciao Bella!”), and caught up with Brooke and so many familiar faces from our past tours.

After the reunion, we made our way up the mountains to our Park City Airbnb, and that was just our first day!

What started as a random roommate assignment in Rome turned into a friendship that’s spanned continents, and now, our own stateside adventure.

And I can’t wait to see where the next adventure takes us. 💛
