SALT FLATS
UTAH Day 4 – From Salt Flats to the Red-Eye Home
Our last morning in Utah began with a drive from Park City into Salt Lake City, where I was dropped off at The Grand America Hotel. We sadly said goodbye.

I had booked a solo tour to the Bonneville Salt Flats, something I wanted to do the last time I was in Utah. While it was a group tour, I was the only one who signed up so my guide and I took the venture on our own. I booked this excursion via Viator. The drive was beautiful and our first stop was the Tree of Utah sculpture. From there, it was on to the salt flats themselves. The salt flats are located right off of the road and are a true wonder to see. We spent some time there walking around and my guide took some photos and even had me put on her cowboy hat for a photo. We had a great time.

I was dropped back at the Grand America Hotel, where I had booked myself an afternoon tea appointment. When I was last in Salt Lake City, I also had afternoon tea here and it’s just a beautiful hotel. I took my time and enjoyed my sandwiches, scones, and tea. Then, I still had time to kill so I spent a little time working in the hotel bar to fill the afternoon before grabbing an Uber to the airport.

After arriving at the Salt Lake City airport, I headed to the lounge for a quiet spot before boarding my Delta first-class red-eye flight to BWI. While the seat was comfortable, the cabin was freezing, and I didn’t get much sleep making the early Monday morning arrival feel especially brutal. After retrieving my car, I drove straight to the office for a full day of work.

After the work day was done, I was so happy to pick up Oliver. I was exhausted and I always miss my buddy while I am gone.
