Day 1 – Calgary: Touchdown on Canada Day 🇨🇦
Canada was my very first FAM tour as a travel advisor with Collette. When I was offered the opportunity, I asked my twin sister where she wanted to go and she chose the Canadian Rockies & Glacier National Park classic tour. This was her first Collette tour (and group tour) and I was so excited she got to come along with me!
After a 2:30 AM wake-up call, we departed Hill’s house and flew from DCA to MSP and then on to Calgary, arriving just in time for Canada Day celebrations. It was interesting to see Canada Day in action. I was surprised by all the cowboy hats in Calgary as they were also getting ready for their annual Stampede. After checking into our hotel, we wandered around the city.
We stopped at Cactus Club Cafe for a cocktail. When we were last in Canada together, we had frequented the Cactus Club Cafe in Vancouver. We loved their frose and sadly, they did not have it this time! I pulled up photos from our last trip there with Hill and my best friend Zoe. We did have a great frozen peach Bellini. We then wandered the downtown streets and stopped for dinner at Saltlik. We called it an early night after a long day of travel.
