4 STATES IN 4 DAYS – DAY 2

Day 2: From CharlottE, NC to Auburn – Buc-ee’s, Beautiful Weather, and Lemonade Dreams

My sister and I kicked off our morning in Charlotte, NC with a lovely walk, discovering shoppes and local cafes. Our favorite? Copain—home of the dreamiest rose cappuccino and a raspberry croissant. Next, we drove out of North Carolina.

Charlotte fun fact: their street signs have crowns on them—love the little details! As a tribute to its nickname, “The Queen City,” which honors Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, the wife of King George III, the crown has become a prominent symbol representing Charlotte’s heritage and identity. In 1983, Charlotte began incorporating the crown logo into its signage and you can find it throughout Charlotte as their emblem.

We mad a lunch stop at Culver’s in Georgia. I always get their mushroom & swiss burger, and yes, their root beer is worth the soda splurge.

We hit some traffic going through Atlanta, but eventually made it to Auburn, Alabama—and had our first ever stop at Buc-ee’s! Clean bathrooms, great gas prices, Beaver Nuggets… what’s not to love?

We checked in to the Graduate Hotel Auburn, which was full of charm and detail. That evening we wandered around downtown, grabbed lemonade from Toomer’s, and enjoyed a walk through Auburn University’s beautiful campus. Dinner at the hotel’s rooftop restaurant capped off a gorgeous day
