4 STATES IN 4 DAYS – Day 4

Day 4: Dollywood Dreams & A Final Buc-ee’s Stop – A Perfect Ending

Dollywood-bound! But first, Buc-ee’s stop #2 in Calhoun, GA for brisket egg tacos, fresh tortillas, and the longest car wash we ever went through. Experience = 10/10.

A few hours later, we arrived in Pigeon Forge, TN, home of Dollywood! We checked into the Heartsong Lodge, Dolly’s own resort—and loved everything about it. Once settled, we grabbed tickets to the park and rode the trolley right into the park. Even on a Saturday, it wasn’t too busy. We rode a few rollercoasters, took a scenic train ride, and sampled Dollywood treats: the famous cinnamon bread from Grist Mill, and banana pudding and peach iced tea at The Front Porch Café.

Dinner at the hotel was delicious, and the night ended with hot tub time and a market stop for tea and ice cream. Could not believe day 4 was the first (and only) ice cream of the trip!

The next day, we made our third and final Buc-ee’s stop in Sevierville, TN, then began the long journey straight back to PA. I said farewell to my sister and nephew and I picked up my sweet Oliver (my cat!) from my parents (best cat grandparents) and headed home to Maryland. While four states in four days is exhausting, we had so much fun and it was a memorable trip.

My nephew has since committed to Auburn University which means, I’ll be back!
