CHARMING ENGLAND
A Charming Day in Stratford-upon-Avon, the English Countryside, and a Castle
After a relaxing morning, Vicki and I headed out to Stratford-upon-Avon—the birthplace of William Shakespeare. We met up with Jos’s lovely mum, who gave me a personal tour walking around Stratford. This village is beautiful with its cobbled streets and admired timber-framed buildings. We capped off our time in Stratford with a relaxing drink right by the water watching the swans on the River Avon.

Then, we were castle bound! Vicki booked us a lovely afternoon tea at Studley Castle. It was what dreams are made of! The day was sunny and we chose to sit outside. There was no rain and we even got a bit sunburnt. I love tea and especially enjoy an afternoon tea with classic finger sandwiches, fresh scones with clotted cream and jam, a cup of tea, and we even celebrated with some bubbly. The castle’s grand yet cozy atmosphere made for the perfect day.

To wrap up the day, we returned to Vicki and Jos’s home for a BBQ in their beautiful, quiet garden. The food was delicious and it was another amazing day with friends. Sadly, this was my last full day in England as I head to the airport in the morning.
