THE COTSWOLDS!
A Day in England: The Cotswolds, Puppy Snuggles, and a Candlelight Concert
Bishops Itchington • Bourton-on-the-Water • Warwick
Day 11 Highlands to Alpine Adventure – Day 2 England
There’s nothing like the coziness of staying with friends while traveling, and my visit to Bishops Itchington in Warwickshire was just that—warm, heartfelt, and filled with so much joy. I stayed with my friends Vicki and Jos at their charming home, where I also got to meet the newest addition to her household: an adorable and energetic puppy. Vicki and I had morning coffee, chatted, enjoyed some time in her beautiful garden, and went for a morning walk.

We then set off to one of the prettiest villages in the Cotswolds—Bourton-on-the-Water. Known as the “Venice of the Cotswolds,†it lived up to its reputation with quaint stone bridges arching over gently flowing streams and rows of honey-colored cottages. We enjoyed a lovely lunch sitting outside at Boxbush Tea Rooms.

Of course, no village stroll is complete without a treat, and we couldn’t resist grabbing ice cream from the most charming Cotswold Ice Creams bike cart. We also visited some shops and bought matching Christmas ornaments.

Later, we all headed into Warwick for dinner at Giggling Squid, a delicious Thai restaurant. We then took a short walk to attend “Country by Candlelight†concert at St. Mary’s Church. It was SO much fun! Who knew I would be listening to country music in England in a historic church, where they even had a bar!

We had such a great day!
